Certified Nurse Midwife
A CNM at MomDoc Mercy Gilbert who sees patients in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese, Angel earned dual midwifery and WHNP credentials at U of Colorado Denver.
Angel's journey into midwifery began on the other side of the world. She earned her nursing degree at the National University of Singapore and spent her early career as an OB/GYN nurse at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, one of Singapore's premier private hospitals. It was there, witnessing births and caring for women through some of the most transformative moments of their lives, that she knew she wanted to do more than assist, she wanted to lead that care.
Angel moved to the United States and completed her Master of Science in Nursing with a Nurse Midwifery focus at the University of Colorado Denver, where she also earned a post-graduate certificate as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner. That combination gives her an unusually broad clinical lens, spanning pregnancy and birth through family planning and well-woman care. She sees patients in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese, a meaningful option for families in the East Valley who would rather discuss birth, contraception, or postpartum questions in their first language.
Outside the exam room, Angel is a serious home cook and baker who experiments with cuisines from around the world. Her favorite undertaking? Preparing sea cucumber from scratch, a painstaking, multi-day process that she says is absolutely worth every hour. She brings that same patience and attention to detail to every patient she sees.
