A Flagship Practice, Not a Franchise

MomDoc began in 1976 as a single clinic on the edge of Chandler, where Dr. Clifford Goodman Jr., MD hung a shingle between the cotton fields and the dairies. He ran it the way a family doctor ran a practice in those days: you saw the same physician every visit, he knew your mother, and you left feeling like you had been listened to rather than processed.

Fifty years later, the practice he started is the largest independent women's health group in Arizona. MomDoc Women For Women, MomDoc Midwives, Mi Doctora, and Women's Health Research all grew out of this original practice. Each serves a specific patient. The MomDoc flagship serves everyone else, which is to say the widest group: women who want a comprehensive OB/GYN that sees them from their first well-woman visit through their last pregnancy and past menopause, in one of seventeen offices across the Valley, with a provider who will still be there at 2 a.m. when labor starts.

The practice has grown. The philosophy has not.

"At MomDoc, all women are seen." No one is denied care because of an inability to pay. A sliding fee scale is available based on family size and income, and our on-site AHCCCS assistor can help you apply the same day.

The MomDoc Difference

The Living Room

Every MomDoc lobby is designed to feel like a friend's living room, not a waiting room. A Medical Concierge greets you by name, checks you in on a tablet, and walks you back. No sliding glass windows, no clipboard, no row of strangers.

Same-Day Appointments

Call or text to be seen the same day. You'll be seen the following day. No phone trees, no waiting weeks for a concern that needs an answer now.

Hours That Fit Your Life

Appointments from 7 AM to 8 PM Monday through Thursday, 7 AM to 6 PM Friday, and 8 AM to 5 PM Saturday. Because your health shouldn't have to wait for a day off work.

Your Provider, Your Visit

When you have an appointment, your provider is at the office to see you. When you're in labor, your provider is with you at the hospital. The clinician you build a relationship with is the one who delivers your baby.

In-House Everything

Lab work, ultrasound, in-office procedures, 3D and 4D Live Motion Ultrasound, and robotic surgery: all under one roof. No running across town between appointments, no hunting down results.

On-Site AHCCCS Assistor

Our on-site assistor can help you apply for AHCCCS the same day you come in. No appointment needed, no separate trip. If cost is the reason you've been putting off care, start here.

Insurance & Access

Before you call, a quick note on cost. MomDoc accepts the major commercial insurers, participates in the main contracted networks, and has a sliding fee scale for anyone whose plan doesn't cover what they need. If you're uninsured or underinsured, our on-site AHCCCS assistor can walk you through the application in person, on the spot.

Ernesto Arostegui

Dr. Ernesto Arostegui

MD | OB/GYN Physician

Dr. Arostegui grew up in the Dominican Republic, where his grandfather, a cardiologist, planted the seed for a life in medicine. Surrounded by women in his family from an early age, he found himself drawn to OB/GYN for the way it blends clinical care, primary care, and procedural skill into a single specialty. He earned his medical degree at Universidad Iberoamericana in Santo Domingo and, before residency, worked in gynecologic oncology consulting and surgical services at CEDIMAT. A move to New York brought him to the Perlmutter Cancer Center at NYU Langone, where he conducted translational research in ovarian and endometrial cancers. He went on to complete his OB/GYN residency at BronxCare Health System, affiliated with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Along the way, Dr. Arostegui has also served as a general practitioner and Spanish-English interpreter during a U.S. armed forces medical mission, providing surgical care to underserved communities in his home country. It is a thread that runs through his career: a pull toward the places and people where his skills can do the most good. What excites him now is building long-term relationships with patients, the kind of practice where he can follow a woman's health across years, not just visits.

Christina Auclair

Christina Auclair

PA-C | Physician Assistant

Christina's background in nutritional science might seem like an unusual starting point for a women's health PA, but it actually explains a lot about how she approaches patient care. Her undergraduate studies at the University of Arizona, where she double-minored in biochemistry and Spanish, gave her a foundational understanding of how the body works at every level. She carried that curiosity into her PA program at Northern Arizona University, where she led a team in the AAPA Medical Challenge Bowl and co-authored research on Coccidioidomycosis. After graduating, Christina worked in urgent care at Banner, but she found herself wanting more than episodic encounters. She wanted to know her patients over time, to educate and empower them, to be part of the ongoing story of their health rather than a single chapter. Women's health offered exactly that. At MomDoc, Christina brings a bilingual practice, she is fluent in Spanish, and a natural gift for patient education that makes even the most complex topics feel approachable.

Lorenzo Boyce

Dr. Lorenzo Boyce

MD | OB/GYN Physician

Dr. Boyce's path to medicine began far from the Chicago hospitals where he would eventually train. Born and raised in the Republic of Panama, he came to the United States for his education and never looked back, though the journey took him to more places than most physicians see in a career. After medical school at the University of Illinois and residency rotations at Mount Sinai Hospital in Chicago and Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Dr. Boyce took a turn that set him apart: he joined the U.S. Air Force. Stationed at Loring Air Force Base in Maine, he served as Chief of OB/GYN Service at the 42nd Strategic Hospital, caring for military families in one of the most remote posts in the country. That experience, delivering babies in a setting where resourcefulness mattered as much as technique, left a lasting mark on his practice style. After his military years, Dr. Boyce built a private practice in Wisconsin before relocating to Arizona, where he co-founded Westridge OB/GYN. He has also carried his skills abroad, providing surgical care on medical missions in Peru. Dr. Boyce first worked with MomDoc in 2013, stepped away for a time, and returned with the conviction that he still has more to give.

LaShonda Carlton

Dr. LaShonda Carlton

MD | OB/GYN Physician

Dr. LaShonda Carlton took the long way to medicine, and her patients are better for it. Raised in Detroit, she earned her chemical engineering degree from the University of Michigan and spent several years in the corporate world at Hercules Inc. and Pfizer. But something was missing. The precision and problem-solving that made her a strong engineer kept pulling her toward a different kind of challenge, one with higher personal stakes. She enrolled at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, and once she arrived, she leaned all the way in, publishing research on liver ischemia and reperfusion, traveling to Peru to assist with cleft lip and palate surgeries, and serving on the Dean's Diversity Advisory Committee. She completed her OB/GYN residency training across two programs, at the University of Kentucky and at Rutgers in New Jersey. Dr. Carlton's engineering background is not just a fun origin story. It shaped how she approaches patient care: methodical, thorough, always looking at the full picture. At MomDoc's Chandler office, she brings that analytical rigor together with the empathy of someone who understands what it means to reinvent yourself, and who believes every woman deserves a physician willing to think deeply about her care.

Lisa Cotten

Lisa Cotten

WHNP | Women's Health Nurse Practitioner

Lisa started her nursing career at the tiniest scale imaginable, the neonatal intensive care unit. At Phoenix Children's Hospital, she cared for critically ill newborns, including high-frequency ventilation patients and babies weighing under 1,000 grams, and attended high-risk deliveries to perform neonatal resuscitation. She had earlier gained experience in labor and delivery and medical telemetry at Tucson Medical Center, but it was the NICU that changed her trajectory. Working so closely with fragile newborns gave Lisa an urgent clarity: she wanted to reach women earlier, during pregnancy, when education and attentive care can alter outcomes before a baby ever arrives. That conviction sent her back to school at the University of Cincinnati, where she earned her master's in women's health nursing. Today, she brings a perspective shaped by the delivery room and the NICU, a provider who knows firsthand what is at stake and channels that knowledge into the kind of prenatal and well-woman care that helps patients feel informed, prepared, and supported.

Eric Curtis

Dr. Eric Curtis

DO | OB/GYN Physician

Dr. Curtis grew up in Salt Lake City and took an unusual route into OB/GYN. After studying biology at the University of Utah, he headed to Chicago for a master's in biomedical science at Midwestern University, where he served as Class President. He earned his DO from Marian University and completed residency at the University of Buffalo's Sisters of Charity Hospital, a program where he quickly became known for his teaching. Medical students nominated him for the Best Teaching Resident Award, and clinical faculty selected him as Resident of the Year. That dual recognition speaks to something fundamental about how Dr. Curtis practices: he is as committed to explaining things clearly as he is to the technical work. He has advanced training in robotic surgery for hysterectomy and endometriosis, and his research has explored osteopathic approaches to external cephalic version and abdominal cerclage outcomes. Dr. Curtis brings a hands-on, research-informed style to MomDoc, where he especially enjoys the mix of surgical precision and long-term patient relationships that OB/GYN offers.

Kristen Gardner

Kristen Gardner

PA-C | Physician Assistant

Kristen has such a cool MomDoc story! She started with MomDoc back in 2007 at the business office. Later on, Kristen earned her Registered Medical Assistant Certificate from Apollo College, followed by her Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition from Arizona State University. While earning her undergraduate degree, she worked as a MomDoc Concierge. This is where she found her passion for women's health and desired to further her education. Kristen went on to earn her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Northern Arizona University. Her deep history with MomDoc, including clinical rotations and years of work at the practice, gives her a unique understanding of the organization and its patients that very few providers can match.

Christine McClusky

Dr. Christine McClusky

DO | Hospitalist

Dr. McClusky has practiced obstetrics and gynecology in Arizona for more than three decades. She earned her degree at Western University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in 1990, then completed her OB/GYN residency at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in suburban Detroit, training there from 1990 to 1994. Across her career she has built deep hospital relationships throughout the East Valley, holding privileges at Chandler Regional Medical Center, Banner Desert Medical Center, and Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, three of the hospitals where MomDoc patients most often deliver. That continuity matters in hospitalist coverage: when one of her partners' patients needs a doctor at 2 AM, Dr. McClusky already knows the unit, the staff, and the workflows. At MomDoc, Dr. McClusky is part of the call-only group, providing hospital coverage for the OB/GYN team rather than seeing patients in clinic. Her clinic-based colleagues handle prenatal visits and routine care; she handles the moments where decades of experience at the bedside is what matters most.

Odinaka Mogor

Dr. Odinaka Mogor

MD | OB/GYN Physician

Dr. Mogor is an East Valley native who took a winding, research-driven road to the operating room. At Arizona State University he studied kinesiology and human physiology, and at the University of Arizona he earned a master's in cellular and molecular medicine, spending his thesis work investigating how hydroxyurea affects red blood cell behavior. That deep dive into bench science gave him something that still shows up in his clinical practice: an instinct for asking why, not just what. Medical school at the University of Arizona reinforced his commitment to underserved communities, he graduated with distinctions in both community service and rural health. During residency in El Paso, Dr. Mogor served as chief resident and honed his skills in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, presenting his work at national conferences alongside the AAGL and the American College of Surgeons. Today, Dr. Mogor's clinical interests span minimally invasive surgery, gynecologic oncology, and high-risk pregnancy. He is a published researcher with peer-reviewed work in both OB/GYN and surgical oncology, but what excites him most is translating that knowledge into better outcomes for his patients right here in the Valley where he grew up.

Scott Partridge

Dr. Scott Partridge

MD, FACOG | OB/GYN Physician (In-office only, no deliveries)

Dr. Partridge grew up in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and studied zoology, chemistry, and Spanish at Brigham Young University before earning his medical degree from the University of Colorado. He has been part of more than 20,000 pregnancies over the course of his career, a number that speaks less to statistics and more to the thousands of families who trusted him with one of the most important moments of their lives. That kind of sustained dedication earned him the respect of his peers, and in 2002 he was elected Chief of Staff at Chandler Regional Hospital, one of only two OB/GYN physicians to serve in that role. Now focused on gynecologic care at MomDoc's Chandler office, Dr. Partridge brings decades of clinical wisdom and the steady presence of a physician who has truly seen it all.

Brittany Stam

Dr. Brittany Stam

MD | Virtual Visits Only

Dr. Brittany Stam grew up in Arizona and studied physiology at the University of Arizona before she and her husband moved to the tropical island of St. Maarten, where she earned her medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean. While it was difficult to leave paradise, it was time for the next step. Dr. Stam spent the next four years in Brooklyn, completing her residency at Staten Island University Hospital, where her peers and the nursing staff recognized her with multiple awards for patient care and service. She also served as Chairman of the Perinatal Collaborative Care Council. Eager to return to their Arizona roots, Dr. Stam joined MomDoc and happily left her winter clothing in New York. She describes herself as a "true generalist at heart", she loves both obstetrics and gynecology and has a strong interest in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery.

Angelique Varela

Dr. Angelique Varela

MD | Hospitalist

Dr. Varela trained in the Harvard-Radcliffe Pre-Med Honors Program before earning her medical degree at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA in 1990. She completed her OB/GYN residency at the Los Angeles County–Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, one of the highest-volume teaching hospitals on the West Coast, where the faculty elected her Administrative Chief Resident in her final year. She is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and a Fellow of the American Society for Nutrition. Her work has carried her across Arizona before she joined MomDoc's hospitalist group: solo private practice in Flagstaff, OB/GYN hospitalist coverage at Yavapai Regional, and laborist work at Canyon Vista Medical Center in Sierra Vista. That hospitalist arc is the through-line: Dr. Varela has been the doctor patients meet in labor and delivery, not the one who manages their prenatal visits, for most of her career. She is published in obstetric research, including first-author work on fetal platelet aggregation in the *American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology*. At MomDoc, Dr. Varela is part of the call-only group, providing hospital coverage for the OB/GYN team rather than seeing patients in clinic. English and Spanish are both native languages for her, which matters when a patient is in active labor and the words need to land cleanly the first time. Her role is to be present and experienced when a MomDoc patient is admitted overnight, on a weekend, or under any circumstance where the people who already know the patient's care plan can't be there in person.

Tammi Williams

Dr. Tammi Williams

MD | Hospitalist

Dr. Williams grew up in Philadelphia and has lived most of her adult life in the South. A lifetime runner, she headed to the University of Alabama on a Track and Field scholarship to study microbiology, then earned her medical degree at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, where she served on the Admissions Committee and the UVA Honors Committee. She completed her OB/GYN residency at UVA, serving as Chief Resident in her final year. Running has been a constant thread through her life, she has finished both the Boston and New York marathons and is married to an Olympic Gold Medalist from the 1976 Montreal relay. Music runs deep, too: her father is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, her brother DJ'd with Will Smith back in Philadelphia, and her son is a director at Capitol Records. Alabama football, she will tell you, is a true addiction. Roll Tide. Dr. Williams brings that same energy to her community work, volunteering at the Open Door Clinic, coaching with Track Xplosion, and serving on the board of The Healing Place. At MomDoc, she is the rare physician whose life outside medicine is as full-throttle as her life inside it, and her patients feel that vitality in every visit.
