Ernesto Arostegui, MD

Dr. Arostegui is originally from the Dominican Republic. He received his medical education at Universidad Iberoamericana in Santo Domingo. Dr. Arostegui recently completed his residency at BronxCare Health System with Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai hospital in New York City.

Dr. Arostegui says he always knew he wanted to work in medicine. His grandfather was a cardiologist, and he felt from an early age that he wanted to heal. Dr. Arostegui was surrounded by women in his early life and was sympathetic to the issues that affected those he cared for. OB/GYN seemed a natural choice as he loves the balance between clinical care, primary care, and procedures.

In his spare time, Dr. Arostegui enjoys any kind of puzzle he can do with his hands, and he especially enjoys singing.

Dr. Arostegui likes to sing many types of music and has sung both in choirs and individually. He also enjoys hiking, camping, and running, and says his favorite type of food is sandwiches (because of their diversity and customizability), Italian, and Dominican food.
