Female Sexual Medicine

Female Sexual Medicine Services are available to women of all ages in the discreet atmosphere of our Chandler office. According to the Journal of American Medical Association, forty-three percent of American women experience some form of sexual dysfunction. Symptoms of female sexual dysfunction may include a loss of sexual desire or arousal, diminished sexual enjoyment, inability to achieve orgasm, and discomfort during intercourse.

Female Sexual Dysfunction is a recognized and often under diagnosed medical condition in which a woman experiences a distressing and notable change in her sexual response. It is important to discuss these issues with a physician as it may indicate a sign of underlying disease. Furthermore, noteworthy advances in research have been made to treat sexual dysfunction, making it possible to find a solution to the problem.

Viagra Testing

There are a combination of factors that influence sexual function and response.  In order to understand the factors in a singular manner there are diagnostic tests available.  Viagra testing is the process of taking the prescribed pill and then measuring the vaginal ph levels and genital blood flow before and after a stimulation exercise.  If the testing proves effective, then Viagra may be prescribed.

Ultrasound Blood Flow Testing

Ultrasound is an excellent diagnostic tool that can capture a clear real time view of blood flow in the genital area.  By increasing blood flow in the genital area through a stimulation exercise, a specialized ultrasound machine is used to measure tissue response and record its progression before and after arousal.  These internal views allow the physician to get a better diagnosis and create a unique treatment plan tailored to each individual.

Perineometer, Trigger Point and Biothesiometer Testing

These tests further allow the physician to diagnose and monitor progress of the patient's treatment plan.

Educational Books and Personal Use Aids

There are many products available to help with sexual function in women.  Among these are educational books and personal use aids.  Educational books are available in office and are a useful resource in understanding how a combination of factors influences sexual function and response.  Also available in office are a range of carefully selected personal use aids.  These aids include accessories like clitoral and vibrator therapy devices, vaginal moisturizers, and lubricants that are helpful to develop and maintain the orgasm reflex.  With proper instruction and education these aids can be an essential part of sexual interaction for women and couples.  These products can be conveniently purchased in the patient room at the following rates.
