The Importance of Preventive Care
Annual Exams are an important time to focus on preventive care and management of complex gynecologic problems.
The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology feels it is important that pap smears be performed annually for women up to age 65. Additionally, at Drs. Goodman & Partridge, OB/GYN, we provide screening for high- and low-risk Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) to help identify women at risk for conditions that could lead to cervical cancer.
Your annual exam is a time to focus on your health and wellbeing. We enjoy seeing our patients on a yearly basis and helping them choose healthy lifestyles, while providing them access to skilled resources for breast imaging, cervical cancer screening, and bone density evaluation.
Perhaps you are also interested in starting a family, or have contraception concerns. We can help you evaluate your birth control options such as birth control pills, intrauterine device (IUD), or tubal sterilization. For instance, you may not be aware of IUDs that can make your period much lighter or even stop, with no effect on fertility once removed.
