Dr. Switzer attended Kansas State University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences, with a secondary major in Gerontology. She made the Dean's List twice. After completing that program in May 2000, she attended the University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, Missouri, and received her D.O. in May 2004. Dr. Switzer completed her residency program in OB/GYN at Akron City Hospital in Akron, Ohio, and promptly went to work at Central Kansas Medical Center in Great Bend, Kansas.
Dr. Switzer grew up experiencing many different cultures. She spent 2 years in Austria, 4 summers on the Navajo Indian Reservation, and 9 years in Chiang Mai, Thailand, where she became proficient in the Thai language.
