Today, I had the privilege to perform the first cesarean section and to deliver the first bouncing baby boy at Banner Ironwood Medical Center in Queen Creek.

Moreover, I got to experience firsthand and thereby confirm the aspirations and expectations I once blogged about Banner Ironwood nearly 6 months ago, which definitely were met, even surpassed, today.

Truthfully, the ability to bring safely another baby into this world at a newly open state-of-the-art health care facility would not have been possible without an exceptionally efficient and radically caring staff that the Medical Center has so aptly assembled.

I very much appreciated the conscientious care and attention to detail that the anesthesiologist, nurse anesthetist, circulating labor and delivery nurses, neonatal nurse practitioner, nursery nurse, respiratory therapist, scrub technician and my surgical assistant (new Practice physician and Ironwood attending Dr. Offor) had during the procedure.

Congratulations are definitely in order for Banner Ironwood in safely delivering their first baby boy by cesarean section and, more importantly, for the lovely couple and "the most excited and most loving [extended] family ever" (I swear that I thought all of them–almost numbering 30 or so–were having the baby themselves) that had their beautiful baby boy this morning.
