In May of this year, the birth control pill celebrated its 50th anniversary! In the United States, the Pill is the most widely used birth control method. More than 100 million people use the Pill worldwide. The first pill was called Enovid. Marketed by G.D. Searle in 1960, the Pill had 150mcg of estrogen, compared to the 20-30 mcg of estrogen in pills today. We've come quite a long way in 50 years!
