Our History

Drs. Goodman & Partridge, OB/GYN is a successful practice of 6 offices, with some of the Valley's best Doctors, Nurse Practitioners, Physician's Assistants, not to mention the managers and staff who excel at doing their part to keep everything running so smoothly. This seemingly large group is more like a tight-knit family with humble beginnings dating back to 1976.

Young Navy Doctor, Clifford J. Goodman Jr., started his OB/GYN practice on June 23rd, 1976 with wife Dina by his side handling office affairs and their three small sons in tow. On that day, he saw his first patient at the original office located at 312 N. Alma School Rd. in Chandler, and later that week delivered the first baby at what used to be Chandler Community Hospital, located on McQueen and Williams Field roads. For the next 6 years, he delivered at both the Chandler Hospital and Mesa Lutheran.

In 1983, Dr. Partridge joined the Practice and became a partner 3 years later. Within a year, Drs. Goodman & Partridge, OB/GYN moved to the current location of the Chandler office, right next to the newly opened Chandler Regional Hospital (now Chandler Regional Medical Center) where Dr. Goodman performed the hospital's first delivery.

Since opening the Chandler Office, significant growth in their patient base led them to open an additional suite down the hall as well as 5 other offices in the East Valley. Among the 100+ employees are 3 who have worked for the Practice for over 20 years each and several others who have devoted more than 10 years.

Over the past 3 decades, Dr. Goodman & Dr. Partridge have achieved many milestones. In 1984 when the Chandler Regional Medical Center was opened, the Practice performed the first surgery, the first vaginal delivery and the first Cesarean Section (many nurses and patients alike boast of Dr. Goodman's very small c-section incisions). Dr. Partridge and Practice Physician Dr. Grayson Guzman each delivered the only two sets of triplets at Chandler Regional Medical Center.

The Practice has been at the forefront of the rapid advances in technology, owning the first 3D/4D Live motion Ultrasound machine in the state of Arizona. Dr. Guzman performed the very first surgery at Mountain Vista Medical Center using the minimally invasive robotic daVinci Surgical System. The Practice has fully converted from paper charts to the new Electronic Medical Records System, allowing more accurate and more easily retrieved record keeping. Accomplishments such as these exhibit a dedication to improvements in women's healthcare and in the lives of each patient.

The doctors in the Practice also lead their peers in the medical world, as Dr. Goodman has been elected Chief of Staff of Chandler Regional Medical Center twice and Dr. Partridge was Chief of Staff from 2004 through 2005. Dr. Goodman is currently chairman of the OB/GYN department at Chandler Regional Medical Center and Dr. Nieves is chairman of the OB/GYN department at Mountain Vista Medical Center.

It has been an amazing 35 years for Drs. Goodman & Partridge, OB/GYN. Between the two founding doctors, they have been involved in well over 50,000 pregnancies. They have expanded the Practice valley-wide, employing over 30 new providers, and have extended their services to provide care at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, Mountain Vista Medical Center and Banner Gateway Medical Center.
