Two Sisters-One Heart Foundation
On February 26 we were a sponsor of the Two Sisters-One Heart run, a charity event in memory of conjoined twins Emma and Taylor Bailey. Dr. Partridge was the physician that first discovered the twins were conjoined in the womb. The Two Sisters-One Heart Foundation originated to assist Emma and Taylor and their family with travel and lodging costs leading up to their double heart transplant surgery – the first of its kind in medical history. On August 10, 2010, during a scheduled surgery for transplant qualification, Emma suffered a burst artery that could not be repaired. The twins’ passing has been difficult, but the Two Sisters-One Heart Memorial Race will honor their spirit and help other families of conjoined twins meet their own challenges. American Red Cross
Communication is very important in the healthcare industry. We must have constant contact with our providers in case of emergencies. Recently our physicians and staff have switched cell phone carriers leaving us with some extra phones. We donated 27 cell phones to the American Red Cross through Recycling For Charities. They will recycle the cell phones and give the cash to the American Red Cross. For more information please visit www.RecyclingForCharities.com
